Subject: Knowledge Formation and Learning from the Past in Research on Historical Climate-Society Interactions.

Advisor: Dr. Lee Mordechai and Dr. Amit Tubi.

Abstract: My dissertation, supervised by Dr. Amit Tubi (Geography) and Dr. Lee Mordechai (History), examines the role of history as a boundary concept within multidisciplinary research that seeks to derive contemporary insights from historical interactions between climatic and social change. I focus in particular on the period known as the “Little Ice Age” and on its development as a conceptual framework that has shifted across disciplines and over time.
