Bio: Sara Kopelman is a Ph.D. candidate and teaching assistant in the Department of Communication and Journalism at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She is a research associate at “The Evolution of Attention in Modern and Contemporary Culture,” an interdisciplinary research group at Mandel Scholion Research Center (2021-2024), and a research associate at “The Retention of Media: The Cultural Memory of Photography in the Smartphone Era,” Israeli Science Foundation research (2021-2024). Her research interests include the temporality and cultural significance of the photographed GIF, iconic photographs, visual attention, and collective memory. She is also a photographer and curator.
