Subject: Yosef Birbi Nissan's spot in the history of the early Piyut
Supervisor: Prof. Shulamit Elizur and Dr. Yehoshua Granat
Bio: I have studied my B.A. and M.A. in Jerusalem, B.A. in Hebrew literature and Hebrew Language, and M.A. in Hebrew Language. I am interested in Medival Hebrew poetry, in its internal development, its language, and its affinity to the Midrash.
Abstract: Yosef Beribi Nissan lived at the end of the Classical Piyyut period, after the time of R. Elazar Beribi Kalir's activity. In the research, I will also try to trace the works and authors that influenced him and the nature of their influence, but the main research will focus on his influence on later authors, like RSG, Shmuel HaShlishi and other poets of the period.
