Abstract: Adi Namia Cohen is a PhD student in the Department of Jewish History and Contemporary Jewry at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Her dissertation explores food and foodways among Jews in medieval Muslim lands, primarily drawing on the Cairo Geniza documents. Her M.A. thesis focused on the eating and dining practices of Jews in medieval France and Germany. By studying food, she highlights the daily social, cultural, and religious lives of Jews and their neighbors.
