
Shira Patael holds a BSc in Physics and in the Amirim Honors Program in Humanities from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She later completed her MA at the Honors Students program of the Mandel School, specializing in Literary Studies within the Department of Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies. Her thesis, written under the supervision of Professor Ruth Fine, examines rewritings of Don Quixote in contemporary Latin American literature, with a particular focus on the work of Argentine author Samanta Schweblin. She is currently a Ph.D. student in the Department of Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies. Her doctoral research deals with the representation of motherhood in contemporary Latin American literature.
