Visiting Scholars | Jack, Joseph & Morton Mandel School for Advanced Studies in the Humanities

Visiting Scholars

The Mandel School encourages the University's faculty members to invite leading scholars from abroad to come as visiting scholars at the Hebrew University. Visiting professors receive an equipped office in the Mandel Building and make it their regular place of work during their stay (either a month or a semester). Visiting professors teach graduate courses, give public lectures, and, apart from engaging in their own research, more generally communicate and share with our students and colleagues, becoming a part of our scholarly community during the duration of their stay.

Visiting scholars are invited to stay for either a month or a semester. Each visiting scholar is required to:
  • Teach a two-credit seminar
  • Give a public lecture
  • Establish research activity in an assigned office in the Mandel Building
The application process for 2020/21 and 2021/22 has been completed and selections have been made.
