Subject: Holocaust reception in Palestinian literature and the making of Palestinian identity.
Advisor: Prof. Yoav Rinon and Dr. Daniel Behar.
Abstract: My doctoral dissertation examines the reception of the Holocaust in Palestinian literature and how the literary representation of the Holocaust constitutes a major component in the construction of the Palestinian identity narrative. I trace the encounters with Holocaust literature, both German and Israeli, from 1946 to the present to understand the development of the Palestinian identity narrative following the literary-political engagement with Holocaust literature.
