The 2025 annual conference of the PhD Honors Program will explore the theme of Transitions - Time, Space, Identity. This theme invites us to examine the dynamics, processes, and changes that are shaping our world. Transitions are not merely pathways from one point to another; they encompass the very movement of change, offering a productive lens through which to analyze familiar and studied phenomena.
Transitions are neither confined to specific timeframes, nor do they always have clear boundaries. They are dynamic, elusive, complex, and ever-changing. As such, they provide valuable opportunities to understand situations of uncertainty, creativity, adaptation, and response. Thus, every transition presents a chance to rethink and reimagine our perceptions of time, space, and identity.
